Bradford National Bank and State Bank of St. Jacob Announce Merger
Bradford National Bank has announced the completion of a merger with State Bank of St. Jacob, bringing together two long‑standing community banks with deep roots in Bond and Madison counties and the surrounding region. The merger was completed on February 28, 2026.
The combined institutions will operate under the name Bradford National Bank.
Michael Ennen, President and Chief Executive Officer of Bradford National Bank, announced the transaction and emphasized the shared values of the two organizations.
“Both institutions have achieved strong success through exceptional customer service and deep, lasting ties to the communities they serve,” Ennen said. “Bradford has long been part of the St. Jacob area, actively supporting local events and initiatives for the past 25 years. We’re excited to build on our community-focused banking approach—one rooted in local team members, local dedication, local decision-making, and local reinvestment.”
State Bank of St. Jacob has served its community for more than 120 years. Bradford National Bank, founded in 1867, is a full‑service community bank and the tenth-oldest bank in Illinois, with locations in Greenville, Highland, Marine, Centralia, Irvington, Nashville, and Breese.
Steven Prange expressed strong optimism about the advantages the merger will bring to customers. “We are excited about the transaction,” Prange said. “By combining our strengths, we will deliver a broader range of enhanced financial services to our customers, including significantly greater lending capacity.”
What to Expect
During the first phase of the merger, State Bank of St. Jacob customers can continue banking as usual. Account numbers, debit cards, online banking access, and everyday banking services will remain unchanged. Customers will be notified directly if any action is required in the future.
Branch locations, hours, and employees will also remain the same.
Bradford National Bank is committed to delivering seamless service and maintaining strong relationships while maintaining continuity of service.
Community Service
Bradford National Bank will continue its strong tradition of community support by sponsoring local events like the Strawberry Festival and Little League, while also awarding two $1,000 scholarships to Triad High School students.
