THIS LETTER CONTAINS IMPORTANT DEBIT CARD INFORMATION
PLEASE DO NOT DISCARD
July 17, 2009
Dear Bradford National Bank Debit Card Owners,
Debit card usage continues to grow at a fast pace, and, unfortunately, debit card fraud continues to grow as well. As a result, Bradford National Bank has implemented a number of new security measures and policies to protect our customers.
Our card processor, the SHAZAM Network, has a fraud alert program in place. It is possible that if you use your card out of state or for large purchases (transactions that are out of the ordinary for you) you may receive a call from the fraud department at SHAZAM to verify the transaction. If you are uncomfortable receiving a call from SHAZAM, please tell them you will call them back. The number you should call at the SHAZAM Fraud department is 1-800-383-8000 (this is the number on the back of your ATM and Debit Card). If you receive a call from the SHAZAM Fraud Department and you do not verify the transaction, SHAZAM may block the transaction and all future transactions on that card.
Neither SHAZAM nor Bradford National Bank will ever call you and ask for your Social Security Number, your ATM or Debit Card PIN or for the CVC2 Code (the three numbers on the back of the card).
If you suspect debit card fraud, or if your card is lost or stolen, you should contact Bradford National Bank immediately at 618-664-2200 or you can email cardsecurity@bradfordbank.com. After hours and on weekends and holidays, you should contact the SHAZAM Network directly at 1-800-383-8000.
If you are planning a trip or have special needs with your debit card, you should contact Bradford National Bank ahead of time at 618-664-2200. We will work hard to accommodate your trip or special needs. It is important that you have an alternative method of payment when you travel (Travelers Checks, credit card) for emergency situations, and that contact information is up to date and on file at the bank (home phone, cell phone, email address) so that we may contact you when necessary.
To protect yourself, it is important that you manage all of your bank accounts on a regular basis and look for unusual transactions. Bradford National Bank provides Internet Banking at no cost which allows you to monitor transactions. Take precautions when using your debit card. Try not to let your debit card out of your sight. Do not use your debit card at non-mainstream web sites. If you suspect anything unusual, you should contact the bank immediately. For more information on debit card fraud and other forms of financial fraud, visit http://www.bradfordbank.com/fraud_information.php. This page is updated regularly.
As a result of the increased level of the debit card fraud, the total daily withdrawal limit on Bradford National Bank debit cards will be set at $500 with no more than $300 of the daily limit available through an ATM. If you have questions or concerns regarding the daily limit, please refer to the contact information below. Additionally, each card will have a three day limit of $800. The bank will attempt to accommodate your special needs or requests when possible.
